During the days of Operation #stayhome, we are all finding activities to keep us occupied. Some people have taken to sewing, some drawing and painting, some baking, while others have taken this opportunity to catch up on good shows that can be streamed.
It occurs to me that this is such a wonderful opportunity. At this moment, many of us have the time to focus on pursuits that otherwise we are too busy to embrace. Furthermore, we really put our focus and energy into them. The end result, is that we are blooming where we are planted.
Irony is, of course, that it is early spring and the garden is just waking up. I see little green shoots from my perennials. The daffodils are above ground and will likely bloom in the next several days.
I can’t help but be reminded of how we, humans at home, are going through a similar process. How many of us will develop new skills, hobbies and pursuits as a result of this event? How many of us will improve our existing skills? How many of us will find a piece of ourselves that has been hidden away? I suspect most, if not all of us, will be “blooming” in one way or another. That is a beautiful thing.
So, bloom on my friend. Cultivate your interests and skills in this time of #stayhome. We will all be better people for it.
