Today I want to share an exciting announcement with you – we are launching the Home Imagined Link Party this fall!
In the last couple of months, I have been working on something exciting with two other bloggers. Rachel from the Antiqued Journey, Meagan from Decorative Inspirations and myself have decided to host a link party! So today, I want to answer some questions related to this announcement.
Exciting Announcement – Home Imagined Link Party
Rachel, Meagan and I decided to host this link party because the content on our blogs all relate to the home and creating a beautiful environment. We wanted you to benefit from the connections and knowledge gained by meeting other bloggers who produce content related to the home.
Rachel from The Antique Journey
Rachel has a passion for old things! She write blogs post that are about using antiques in your home as well as simple DIY crafts. Rachel is also an amazing thrifter. She finds the best antique and vintage pieces when she is thrifting.
Rachel’s husband is an active part of her blog and his family is the whole reason she learned about and started collecting antiques.
Anna from Sky Lark House
Presumably, you know who I am and what this blog is about but I will give you the one sentence overview. Sky Lark House is a blog that shares my love of refurbishing furniture, vintage/antique items, and crafts/small DIYs that you can incorporate into your home.
I started my blog in 2019 as a way to help promote my business of selling vintage/antique items. During the past 3 years, this blog has grown and evolved considerably.
Here is a recent blog post sharing recent vintage and antique inventory in my booth.
Meagan from Decorative Inspirations
Meagan started her blog to share her passion for decorating, DIY home decor, painting furniture and her love for antiques/ vintage with others. Here is a fun fact, Meagan at the age of 18, rented a 10′ x 12′ storage unit to start collecting home furnishings and decor using the money she saved up from her part-time job.
Meagan also owns and operates the cutest little AirBnB in Myrtle Beach. Of course, she decorated the interior of the beach cottage.
You are probably asking what the content of the link party will include. Well, we have decided to call it the Home Imagined Link Party since our focus is on all things home. This includes DIYs, decorating, thrifting makeovers, furniture makeovers, and antiques/vintage items. It can also include other home related topics like cooking recipes, organizing, gardening, and cleaning.
If you aren’t familiar with link parties, let me explain. Link parties are a website, usually a blog, where people congregate to share ideas and links to blog posts. Bloggers share their content and readers can peruse a list of various blog posts and topics. It is a win-win for everyone.
In this situation, other bloggers would share their “home related” blog posts during our link party. Of course, with every link party, we will feature a blogger who participated in our previous link party.
If you want to learn more, House of Rose wrote a great blog post explaining link parties and walking you through on how to participate.
You are probably asking yourself: “why should I participate”? Excellent question. Link parties have a lot to offer. Below are some of the benefits of visiting and/or participating in a link party.
- If you are a blogger, it’s a great way for your posts to get more visibility and traffic.
- It’s a great way to meet and socialize with other bloggers – especially those in your niche.
- If you are a visitor, link parties offer an enormous amount of inspiration in one place. There are a variety of recipes, decorating ideas, DIYs, and more in one location.
Our first Home Imagined link party is planned for Sept 6. The link party will open at 9 am on Tuesday and will close at 5 pm on Thursday. This means there are 3 days to enter links to blog posts. As a reader, it means you have 3 days to visit various blogs and look at a whole variety of inspiring content.
The Home Imagined link party will be held every other Tuesday.
So where do you go to participate in the Home Imagined link party? Simply visit one of our three websites and enter your link using Inlinkz. It’s super easy.
- Create an account with Inlinkz. You can do this when you visit the Home Imagined link party
- Copy a link to a blog post you want to share
- Click “Add Link”
- Paste your link
- Select the photo you want to use for the thumbnail
- Crop the photo if needed
- Click Save
That’s it. There are detailed instructions with screen shots found in this InLinkz post.
Finally, whenever you host a link party, it’s important to have some rules. We tried to keep our rules as simple as possible while still trying to be considerate of people’s time and content. If you want to participate in the Home Imagined Link Party, here are the rules:
- No links with advertising
- No links with giveaways
- No links to other link parties
- No links with roundup posts
- Please follow each of us on 1 social network – Pinterest/Facebook/Instagram
- All shared links should relate to the Home
- Please comment on at least 2 other blog posts submitted in the link party
We feel these are fairly simple rules that are easy to follow.
We are so excited to announce that we are launching the Home Imagined Link Party. I hope you will join us on Sept 6th for the launching of our first Home Imagined link party! Thank you for stopping by the blog today to see what’s happening in this corner of the internet.
