If you have been spending any amount of time on this blog, instagram or facebook or if you know me in person – then you know I have a weakness for European enamelware. Most notably, those pieces from France and England. Although I also like pieces from other European countries.
So, with Valentine’s Day around the corner, I could not pass up these beautiful pieces. First up are these beautiful French canisters. It is so difficult to find a set of 6! The red and white lettering is so cheerful.
They have a great weight to them and have the perfect amount of chips in their enamel to add character.
The bread box was also a great find! It’s from the 1960s and I can’t determine if it is from Germany or the Netherlands. It is in great condition and the interior a white enamel paint. The heft of this bread box conveys the quality and age. They definitely don’t make enamelware like this any more!
The air vents are located on the back of the box.
I took these photos just before I brought these items to Stone Soup Antiques. So please pardon the tags that make an appearance.
I have one more blog post to share with you for January’s finds which I will share with you next week.
Thanks for stopping by the blog and seeing what’s happening in this corner of the internet.
