In the workshop- Mission Style Table “Before”

We went to an auction recently, and I bid on this beauty.  As it turned out, I won her.  She is a sturdy and well built table made with solid oak.  I loved the fact that there was a shelf under this little side table.  That is so functional!

Now, I know there are people who will disagree with me, but I think she’s just too much wood.  With all those straight lines and heavy brown wood, she doesn’t have a sense of humor.  This is a serious table.

So, I am going to lighten her up a bit.  Hopefully, give her a sense of joie de vivre. I plan to keep her top the beautiful oak wood.  However, I have a variety of ideas for the rest of her.  That shelf is just begging for a basket or a stack of books. Right?

Stay tuned to see what happens and how she turns out.  Thank you for stopping by the blog today!
