Little cupboard in the color Layla’s mint Miss Mustard Seed milk paint.
Once again, I neglected to take “before“ photos. So you will only see the “after” version of this piece.
I found this little cupboard on Facebook Marketplace and it’s the size of a nightstand. It’s such a practical piece that can be used in a multitude of places that I knew it was a good investment.
The piece originally had a recently dark stained top and a latex painted bottom. It just didn’t suit the age and character of the piece.
Plus, I needed a break from working on large, complex and time consuming projects. (I’m looking at you – Victorian vanity) This project didn’t require cutting wood, gluing or clamping. It was relatively easy to do the prep work.
So, I sanded down the small cupboard, cleaned it up and painted it with Miss Mustard Seed milk paint – in the color Layla’s Mint.
It took a couple of coats of paint to fully cover the dark stained top. Here is a a photo of the door. It has such great details.

All in all, I spent two hours or so transforming this piece. It was such a fun and easy project and the results were gratifying.
Don‘t we all need projects like that?

p.s. this piece already sold so it won’t be heading to the shop.
