In July of this year, the MMS milk paint company announced that they were going to have a contest for two categories of items.
-Home decor
-Furniture
The goal of the contest was to paint/refurbish/repurpose home decor items or furniture in patriotic colors representational of the month of July – specifically the following milk paint colors.
– Artissimo (navy blue)
– Flow blue (bright blue)
– Tricycle (red)
All entries had to be submitted by July 31st, 2021 and the company stated that a total of 4 winners would be announced by August 7th, 2021. I decided that I wanted to enter the furniture contest. (As opposed to the home decor contest)

As you may recall, I shared with you in this post, that I was working on refurbishing this sideboard so I could enter it into the contest. I am honored to share with you that I was selected as one of the 4 winners.
However, I wanted to share with you the other 3 amazing women who were also selected as winners for the furniture category.

First up, is Marcia from @cellophaneflowers909 on Instagram who painted this slant front desk in Artissimo. This is a beautiful piece of furniture! I love how she chose not to paint the drawers. Also, look at those feet! If you scroll through Marcia’s feed, you can see some other pieces that she painted.

Tati from @woodmorning2u from Instagram painted this dresser in the color Tricycle. She also has posted many piece of furniture on her IG feed. Scroll through to see the different types of furniture pieces she has re-done. You can also follow her on Facebook by clicking here.

Finally, we have this piece from Jen @greensprucedesigns on Instagram! I love the hardware on this chest of drawers. I believe those are the original pulls. Jen’s IG feed is full of furniture pieces she has revived. Take a peek for some inspiration. As an aside, I am very impressed with her photography skills. Every single photo on her feed looks this amazing. You can learn more about Jen’s business on her Facebook page here.
She also has an ETSY shop, although right now the shop is closed for a small break.
MMS Milk Paint Company also identified two other noteworthy submittals in the furniture category.

The first was this Empire dresser by Vintiques Co, who you can follow on Instagram as @vintquecos, which she painted in Artissimo. She also has a Facebook page you can follow here.

Finally, Deb owner of Cottle and Gunn, @cottleandgunn on Instagram, was recognized for her work with this buffet painted in Artissimo. You can also follow Deb’s business on Facebook here.
You can also read more about these entries on the up and coming MMS milk paint blog.
