Sources for English Advertising Jars

Last year, I had some old English advertising jars that included the J.Sainsbury and Dundee Marmalade Jars.  I also had some anchovy paste containers and toothpaste containers.  The black and white graphics on these jars and containers are amazing.  I find that collecting them is a bit addictive.  Here is a blog post I wrote on collecting these treasures.

Last spring, I found a vendor in England from whom I was able to purchase several boxes worth of jars.  She packed them all carefully in 3 boxes and sent them across the ocean to me.  Unfortunately, since then I have sold out of these jars and containers.  I loved them and so did you. By the fall of 2020, they were all gone. Alas, the vendor in England I previously purchased items from, also sold all of her old English advertising jars.

I have had so many of you message me and reach out to me to ask if I will be getting more of these jars in stock.  Sadly, as of now, no, I won’t be getting more in stock.  However, I have found a number of other vendors on Etsy who are selling these items.

So, I thought I would share them with you.  All of these shops are located in the United States so that you don’t need to pay overseas shipping rates.  (Which can be costly).

First up is the Vintage Bread Box. She has a variety of Old English Advertising jars and more.  For example she is selling this pair of J. Sainsbury Jars for $70.

Another shop with a good selection is Black Dog Creations Co.  This shop offers a Frank Cooper Marmalade Jar for sale.  It’s worth noting that these jars are getting increasingly difficult to find.

Finally Vintage Treasures Two offers some Dundee Marmalade jars as well as some Cold Cream jars.

If these stores don’t have what you are looking for, definitely continue to check back in the future.  They are constantly re-stocking their inventory and bringing in new merchandise.

Also, full disclosure, this post contains affiliate links.  I do receive a small commission if you choose to purchase an item from one of the vendors.  Thank you for supporting small businesses, including this one.
