Things this week that made my life better

There is a lot of spring refreshing going on in the decorating world.  Frankly, I am not a big fan of running out to buy new stuff with the change of every season.  I like to use what I have on hand and keep the things I love for a long period of time.  Which, is why, I love Halena’s series called “Shop Your Home“. You can find her on Instagram @ernsthale and also check out her website Haystack Mercantile.  Below are some spaces in her home she refreshed after shopping her home.

By the way, when she refreshed her Master bedroom, she removed the previous rug all by herself. She also moved the mattress off of the bed all by herself.  I am beyond impressed. Words fail me.

Also this week, Marian Parson shared news of her new book Feels Like Home. She is also doing a give away on her blog for a $250 Etsy gift card. You can enter until April 19th 2021.  I love that she wrote about how to take a typical suburban home and make it your own.  So many of us own these types of homes and feel lost when it comes to decorating them.  They don’t have the soaring ceilings, exposed beams, floor to ceiling windows or grand kitchens that you see in the design magazines.  Marian shows us how to work with the home we have and how to make the space reflect who you are.

Now is the time to start planning your garden.  Here are some great online garden sites to help you get started.

Last but not least I have been on a cranberry juice and grapefruit seltzer water drink concoction kick.  I use a 50/50 combo of juice and seltzer water and it seems to serve me well.  Something about this drink says “spring” to me.  It’s definitely made my life better this past week.

Wishing you all a safe and wonderful weekend.
