Labor Day weekend came and went. That can only mean one thing – fall is arriving in a few weeks.

A new season means a booth re-set. So, I took some time and brought new inventory to Stone Soup Antiques. As you know, if you have been reading the blog, these are pieces of furniture that I have been working on over the summer. Including this faux grain painted cupboard that’s circa 1850. I wrote about this cupboard HERE. This cupboard has a repair on the base and the single wood panels on the doors have started to “check” but I love the authenticity and character of the piece.

This Victorian vanity also made its way into the booth. I wrote a couple of posts about this piece HERE and HERE. This little vanity took more time and work than I anticipated but I learned so much in the process of giving it a face lift.

The sideboard in Flowblue milk paint has also been brought to the shop. You can read about the process of reviving this piece of furniture HERE. This piece was originally coated in very thick white paint. It was a paint job that had gone south. The paint was applied so thickly that it prevented the doors from closing. The glass knobs on this piece are vintage hardware from France. They are the most beautiful glass knobs I have ever seen.
After moving all this furniture, I think Mr. SLH’s back has gone on strike. So, we probably won’t be moving any more large pieces of furniture in the near future.

Recently I did a post HERE on some fresh finds – which I also brought to the booth. Most notably, this gorgeous Furnival’s Quail platter from 1921.

The back stamp on the platter is drool worthy. I love the little quail on the inside of the stamp.
Over the next few weeks, I will be bringing in more merchandise. Primarily “smalls”, as we call them. I still have more brown and white transferware and there are also some pewter pieces I would like to bring in. I haven’t even added any of the yellow ware pieces that I want to bring out for fall. So, I plan to incorporate those items and more in the near future.
In the meantime, here is a short video (less than 3 minutes) giving you a tour of the booth and some of the recent changes.
That little industrial cart is one of my favorite items. All the wheels roll and it is definitely the real deal. (Another heavy item Mr. SLH and I carried into the booth) I think it would look so cute with pumpkins and mums on it. It could also make a great coffee table since the handle can be removed.
On an unrelated note, I am so excited because I have been saving up for a new camera. Hopefully, I will be getting it before the end of the year. I am hoping that it will allow me to take better photos – especially indoors.
Thank you for stopping by the blog today. I always appreciate it when you take the time to check out this corner of the internet.
